Rate of Return

The rate of return is used only to illustrate the effects of the compound growth rate and is not intended to reflect future values of the mutual fund or returns on investment in the mutual fund. The indicated rates of return are the historical annual compounded total returns including changes in share or unit value and reinvestment of all dividends and distributions and does not take into account sales, redemption, distribution or optional charges or income taxes payable by any securityholder that would have reduced returns. Mutual funds are not guaranteed; their values change frequently and past performance may not be repeated.

MD Money Fund

Yields are annualized historical yields based on the seven-day period noted on the MD Money Fund Fact Sheet (annualized in the case of effective yield by compounding the seven-day return) and does not represent an actual one-year return. The performance data assumes reinvestment of distributions only and does not take into account sales, redemption, distribution or optional charges or income taxes payable by reduced returns. Mutual fund securities are not covered by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation or by any other government deposit insurer. There can be no assurances that the fund will be able to maintain its net asset value per security at a constant amount or that the full amount of your investment in the fund will be returned to you. Past performance may not be repeated.

Morningstar Quartile Rankings

Quartile rankings are a measurement of how a mutual fund performs when compared to other funds within the same competitive universe. The Investment Funds Standards Committee defines peer groups. BellCharts produces the rankings (1st quartile best-4th quartile lowest). Quartile rankings are available from Morningstar who can be contacted at www.morningstar.ca.

Note: Prior to October 1, 1994:

The funds that existed at that date were only responsible for payment of the management fee, brokerage fees and taxes. Effective October 1, 1994, such funds assumed responsibility for the payment of all expenses related to the preparation and distribution of public disclosure documents, custodial fees, audit fees and meetings of securityholders. Effective June 1, 1996, the annual management fee for MD Balanced Fund, MD Dividend Fund, MD Equity Fund, MD Growth Fund, MD Select Fund and MD US Equity Fund increased by 0.25%. Had this change been in effect throughout the above measurement periods, fund performance would have decreased. This change does not apply to the MD Income Fund.
