Designing MD Private Trust’s Accessibility Plan

MD Private Trust is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility.

The Accessible Canada Act (ACA) is legislation that came into effect in 2019. The goal is to make Canada barrier-free by 2040. As part of Scotiabank’s requirements under the ACA, we are preparing our Accessibility Plan that must be published by June 2023.

Accessibility is a journey, and at MD Private Trust we are continually striving to improve the accessibility of our products and services, in partnership with our customers, employees and the public.

Accessible Canada Act

The priority areas for the MD Private Trust under the Accessible Canada Act are

  • employment
  • the built environment
  • information and communication technologies
  • communication, other than information and communication technologies
  • the procurement of goods, services, and facilities
  • design and delivery of programs and services

About the Accessibility Plan Preparations

Over the past year, Scotiabank has embarked on a journey to better understand how we can improve the way we do business across Canada. To do this, we have conducted consultations with people with disabilities, employees, and disability community organizations. Thank you to everyone who has dedicated their time and knowledge.

Our Ask

We welcome all Canadians, whether they are a MD Private Trust customer or not to participate in a consultation. Your participation in the development of MD Private Trust’s Accessibility Plan is appreciated.
