Password protocols

  • Password must contain between 8 and 20 characters.
  • Password must contain at least 1 letter. 1 number, and 1 special character.
  • Passwords cannot be commonly used, expected or known.

Password tips

  • No personal information. Never choose a password that has anything to do with you personally.
  • No real words. Words that can be found in a dictionary can be easily cracked by password software.
  • Mix characters. Use upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters to substitute for letters.
  • Use a passphrase. Take your favorite line from a movie, song, or book and convert it to a passphrase. For example, to paraphrase Jack Nicholson in the film A Few Good Men, "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!" Turned into a passphrase, it would read "Ywtt?Ychtt!".

Report a Privacy Breach
